Because, well, what's the Rangers section without it!? And how would it look if *I* wasn't the one to start it!?

::LIIIIIICCCKKKKKSSSSS::
How ironic that my first lick was in the Avery thread. I still say I'd need protection to lick him. I don't want to catch anything.

It's true! I don't want his sloppy twenties!
Or cooties.
Take your pic.
Is it obvious that I'm going through hockey withdrawals yet? Goodness I cannot WAIT for hockey season to start!

Okay really why do so many people hate avery......he is the perfect example on how hockey should be played...not soft!!!...the fighting penaltys are a bit out of control players are getting to soft

I'd rather have Bertuzzi (which is a strong possibility).
Imagine having him, Avery, and Brashear on one team. The penalty box will need a rotating door.

I thought this too when the Wild had Simon, Fedoruk and Boogaard for a few months in the 07-08 season, it was going to be like the bash brothers from the mighty ducks movies, but nothing really ever happened with them all together, it was a let down to say the least

Brashear and Bertuzzi are still agile and Avery can fly.

good point, for whatever reason I never thought about it like that For intimidation purposes, Boogard is probably the scariest player in the NHL though. Maybe even with Brashear.

just imagine if Boogaard could skate like the wind! that's one thing I really liked about Antropov, big guy and could skate pretty well with his big chassis (sorry to get off topic here)

no doubt, I just hope Avery (and the rest of the Rangers) have a good year and can stay healthy and out of trouble, they need to get off to a hot start again like last year, and just keep it going

I can see why people don't like him - he does push the envelope and not everyone likes that.
Personally, I enjoy his shenanigans and happen to think he's more talented than just what people think based on the Marty incident.

He's never tried to hurt anyone, that's the bottom line.

I agree. He might be a pest, but he's not dirty nor has he ever given a cheap shot a la Brashear, et al.

I love the guy, like Sean says himself, he's not an a-hole in real life, most of the things he does is to uphold an image

Oh yes. That's also one reason why his interviews (i.e. playing w/ dolls) crack me up. You really can't take that stuff as being 100% true.
It's also part of the reason why I like him!!!
